Thank you for lurking around my Substack. You may have come here trying to find more information on me because you were curious or maybe wanted a formal introduction.
So, let me convince you to stick around.
Jesse Cook is the pen name I’m using to write my book and also to post all of my crazy thoughts into the Substack void. I actually work on marketing (and hope to some day escape the corporate hellscape).
For many years I was a content writer and then an SEO writer.
However, I always had this idea on my head that I wanted to write… not content but an actual fiction book.
The inciting incident
2025 was an exhausting year for me. I was burned out and work had taken over my peace (my two jobs).
One night while I was tossing around in bed, I decided I couldn’t continue like this. That life was worth living doing things I loved. And that trying was better than doing nothing.
So, I left one of my jobs and promised myself I would start writing my book on 2026.
The plot so far
And here we are…
Writing a fiction book has a been a whole other beast, very different from SEO writing. But I’m learning more everyday and sharing it here in Narrative Baggage, hoping it can help you as much as it’s been helping me :)

I want to share with you everything I learn along the way plus actual actionable advice that I’m currently using to write my own book. And hey! If you have any ideas of a topic you’d like me to write, you can always message me.
