That's awesome, Jesse! Congratulations on those stats! Thank you for sharing about your first month in Substack and what you've got planned. And thank you for the shoutout!

Thanks for the support, always! I may do things different or try new strategies as I learn. I liked the idea of these posts as documentation for me and also as a way to share what's working for me with others (I know, I myself, would like to read that from other people too!)

You're welcome! Looking forward to seeing what's next. Also, thanks again for sharing the graphs. It reminded me that I need to be more intentional with checking my stats to see what's resonating and what isn't.

Glad it helped!

Nice, informative post! Consistency is key, they say. Interesting to see where you end up if you keep the constant flow of quality posts up :)

I'll update you soon😉. But honestly… at my current situation I won't be able to keep posting one article a week while also writing my book and planning notes on Substack 😂. It's been a fun ride though. I still have one article left and then the wrap up. I'm also looking forward to the results. How's your schedule looking?

Originally, I was planning for roughly 1 post every 2 weeks.

But I am still figuring out what works best, both content-wise and length-wise. If a 1-week posting schedule is the norm, I might look into that.

If there's enough interest in my English poems, I'll share those on a regular basis as well. They're a nice length for Substack. Otherwise, I will stick to the infromative blogs only.

I'll try to be flexible :)

Congratulations on your first month here. Great stats and such a nice way of breaking them down. Do you have any tricks for keeping a Substack and dedicating time to your book? I’m finding Substack time is intruding on book writing time.

Jesse Cook's avatar

Thanks Janks🙌

Actually, I do. It's not a trick but more a schedule. I work on my book for an hour or two after work on weekdays and work on my Substack articles on Saturday and Notes on Sunday. I want to try and brainstorm for Notes on Friday though because I would like to do nothing on Sunday. But honestly Substack has been intruding on my book writing time a little during the week because I like chatting with people 😅

I hear you! Me, too.

That's a great schedule. I think I need to be more thoughtful about structuring my time. Thank you for sharing. I appreciate it.

And, great work on Narrative Baggage-- I'm very much enjoying!
